Campouts and Trips
At least once a month there will be a major activity, campout or day trip.
The cost of trips can start at $5.00 and up. Depending on location, activity, and menu.
Most trips are Scout only with a few adult chaperones based on how many are needed for the activity. They do have some Scout Family trips, but the Scouts make
all the decisions about which trip is a family trip and which one(s) are not.
This is voted on by the Scouts when the trips are being organized. The number of adult chaperones needed varies by trip and activity. This will be communicated once a firm headcount is identified. In short, the sooner the scout signs up for the trip/activity the faster we know how many adults we need.
Any adult attending trips must be registered and take the Youth Protection Training. (BSA Rule)
Anyone attending an outing over 72 hours long MUST have all of Medical forms A,B and C completed and turned in. (BSA Rule)
BSA registration
-
A BSA application must be completed as well as the BSA health forms.
-
Registration fees are determined each year based on BSA cost, liability insurance and advancements. This amount will be announced each year as we get close to re-charter. Re-charter happens at the end of November. If you join mid-year the cost would be pro-rated based on that year's re-charter cost.
-
We usually start collecting around October.
-
If you are needing a payment plan, please talk to our Committee Chair or Scoutmaster.
-
Fundraisers
A few examples are:
-
Popcorn (Aug to Oct)
-
Wreaths and garland at Christmas
-
Camp Cards - which offers coupons for variety of stores
-
Valentine’s Day Rose Sale
Summer Camp
-
Scout Camp: Usually the 2nd or 3rd weekend in July.
-
Leaders will be assigned to go. We will identify additional needs for chaperones once signups are done. The cost of camp will be communicated once a camp is picked and the information from that particular camp is posted.
-
We recommend our new Scouts do not sign up for the 1st year camp program as we handle the rank requirements this program covers internally before and after summer camp. Instead, we encourage the Scouts to explore the merit badge opportunities such as small boats, swimming and other fun/unique badges the camps may offer. Please coordinate class availability with the Advancement Chair.
-
Scout accounts may be used for Summer Camp.
-
As we get a little closer a packing list will be posted.
